Ibrahimovic, now serving as Senior Advisor to AC Milan’s Ownership and Senior Management under Redbird Capital Partners, recently weighed in on the situation. With his new role allowing him to influence transfer negotiations, his perspective carries significant weight.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Ibrahimovic shared his views: “Rashford? I know him well from my time at Manchester United when he was a young player. He’s achieved great things at the club and remains a key figure for them. Playing for AC Milan is a dream for many—it’s one of the world’s biggest clubs. It’s a complicated deal, though. We haven’t had any discussions with him yet, but we’ll see what happens.”
Milan manager Sergio Conceição, who has quickly won over fans after securing the Italian Super Cup with wins against Juventus and Inter Milan, also commented on the speculation. While expressing frustration over the constant rumors, he did not completely rule out the possibility of Rashford joining the Rossoneri.
“In Portugal, we deal with even more rumors like this. Here, we focus on football, but sometimes speculation stirs things up,” Conceição said. “Rashford is a talented player, no doubt, just like many others. Some players are available, and some are not. We’ll have to wait and see.”
