In a bold and unexpected move, former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has publicly urged the club and new head coach Arne Slot to act swiftly in signing Atalanta’s standout midfielder, Ederson. Klopp emphasized the urgency, stating that delaying this transfer could be a significant misstep for the club.
“Liverpool and Arne Slot would be foolish not to sign him,” Klopp reportedly stated. “Ederson is playing brilliantly for Atalanta—especially after he’s openly declared his wish to join the club. The fact is, he alone is better than every Liverpool midfielder right now, except maybe one. This isn’t the time to hesitate or overthink. If they’re serious about challenging for titles, they need to act fast.”
Ederson, a 25-year-old Brazilian international, has been instrumental in Atalanta’s recent successes, including their Europa League triumph. His performances have caught the attention of several top European clubs, with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City all expressing interest. Atalanta reportedly values Ederson at around €60 million (£51 million) .
