Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli during the January transfer window. According to reputable journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic, the Red Devils are admirers of the 23-year-old Georgian winger and are closely monitoring his situation at the Italian club.

While United are not actively pursuing Kvaratskhelia at this moment, they may consider making a move should he become available. However, they are not alone in this interest; European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also reportedly keen on acquiring the highly-rated forward.

Since joining Napoli from Rubin Kazan in the summer of 2022, Kvaratskhelia has established himself as one of Europe’s leading attackers. He has contributed 30 goals and 29 assists in 107 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A side. This season alone, he has tallied five goals and three assists in 19 games, bringing his career totals to 52 goals and 53 assists, according to Transfermarkt.

Kvaratskhelia’s current contract with Napoli runs until 2027. However, with no progress on a potential extension, top clubs across Europe are closely monitoring his situation.

A move for Kvaratskhelia would be intriguing given Manchester United’s current depth on the left flank, with players like Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho already occupying the position. While all three players are versatile enough to operate across the front line, their primary role remains the same.

However, a transfer could make sense if one of United’s current attackers departs in the near future. Recent reports have suggested that Marcus Rashford’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain, with clubs like AC Milan and Juventus showing interest in the English forward. If Rashford were to leave, United might view Kvaratskhelia as an ideal replacement to maintain the quality and depth of their attack.

It’s worth noting that any potential move for Kvaratskhelia would likely involve significant financial considerations, given his contract length and Napoli’s valuation of the player. Additionally, competition from other top European clubs could complicate negotiations.

As the January transfer window approaches, it will be interesting to see how Manchester United navigate their transfer strategy, especially concerning their attacking options. The situation with Kvaratskhelia is one to watch, as his availability could prompt a bidding war among Europe’s elite clubs.
