Arsenal legend Arsène Wenger has made a passionate plea to current manager Mikel Arteta to introduce Raheem Sterling in the second half of their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain. The Gunners trail 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium, having conceded an early goal to Ousmane Dembélé.

Wenger, observing the match from the stands, was reportedly overheard expressing his concern: “He needs to bring Sterling in the second half for this game to end better; if not, Arsenal are going to be battered.” The former manager emphasized Sterling’s potential impact, stating, “He needs to be fully involved now.”

Sterling, who joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea late in the summer transfer window, has struggled for consistent playing time, making just four starts in all competitions. Despite limited minutes, he has contributed one goal and two assists, showcasing his ability to influence games.

Arteta has previously acknowledged the difficulty in not providing Sterling with more opportunities, noting the player’s eagerness to contribute: “It’s been tough and very difficult for me as well to accept that I haven’t given him more [minutes].”

With Arsenal’s attack appearing subdued and PSG’s defense holding firm, the introduction of Sterling could provide the necessary spark. His pace and experience on the European stage might be pivotal in turning the tide of the match.

As the second half approaches, all eyes are on Arteta’s tactical decisions. Will he heed Wenger’s advice and unleash Sterling to reignite Arsenal’s Champions League aspirations?
