Liverpool are showing no signs of slowing down in the transfer market. Following the imminent arrival of Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen for €35 million, the Reds are now preparing a sensational £170 million spree on three more signings as Arne Slot begins shaping his squad for the 2025/26 season.

Frimpong’s deal, which is expected to be finalized in the coming days, will mark the first signing of the summer under Slot. But the new Liverpool boss, working closely with the club’s revamped recruitment team, is already planning an ambitious next wave of additions.

According to sources close to the club, Liverpool are targeting a central midfielder, a versatile forward, and a left-sided center-back — all of whom are seen as key to Slot’s tactical vision.

One of the top targets is Atalanta’s midfield engine Teun Koopmeiners, a player highly admired for his work rate, passing range, and tactical intelligence. Valued at around £50 million, Koopmeiners could be the perfect addition to Liverpool’s evolving midfield, adding balance alongside the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

In attack, the Reds are closely monitoring PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko. The Belgian winger, who has attracted interest across Europe, is viewed as an ideal option to provide depth and competition across the front three. Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer in excess of £40 million to secure his services.

Defensively, talks are progressing regarding Sporting CP centre-back Gonçalo Inácio. The 22-year-old left-footed defender has a release clause of £51 million and fits Liverpool’s profile for a modern, ball-playing central defender.

With Frimpong’s deal already virtually sealed, Liverpool’s total outlay could exceed £200 million this summer if all three additional targets are secured. Arne Slot is clearly being backed to refresh and reload a squad that is aiming to challenge Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title, while also mounting a strong return to the Champions League stage.

A new era is underway at Anfield — and it’s one being built with serious investment and clear intent.
